Jelovica developed a new wall element
Development of a new wall element
Jelovica Houses, a pioneer in wooden prefabricated construction, operating in the field of wooden construction since 1942, reaffirms its position among the top European manufacturers of prefabricated buildings. In 2026, the company announces a brand new wall for the construction of large buildings, primarily aimed at construction companies building larger structures, whether residential, commercial, or public.

The company’s focus on the most demanding European markets, including Switzerland, Germany, and Italy, requires continuous development and the highest quality of products. An experienced team of experts, based on market demands and their own knowledge, has developed a wall element that is more suitable for the construction of larger buildings than cross-laminated panels, as it provides better energy properties of the wall, while being structurally strong enough for use in multi-story and more complex buildings. The developed element retains all the advantages of wooden prefabricated construction, ensures faster execution of construction projects, and requires a smaller construction team on site.
“The new Jelovica Professional Core element represents an important milestone for prefabricated construction, as it will make prefabricated construction more attractive also for large construction companies that have so far built primarily in a traditional way,” said the director and owner of Jelovica, Gregor Benčina, adding that the new wall element allows easy use within traditional construction processes and the execution of all other construction works in the same way as in traditional construction.
The first buildings with the new element are expected at Jelovica in the second half of 2026, and the company is already inviting construction service providers to a presentation of the new element, which is custom-made, comparable to cross-laminated panels, better insulated, and also cheaper.
